Bath Road, Slough

A new build residential development in the heart of Slough. Working for a niche developer client, we were able to add real value to the project by analysing and modelling the building in 3D.

the challenge

Understanding the design programme, we resourced the project to ensure that the design was delivered on time. We developed the design from 2D to 3D and worked with the architect to resolve issues to ensure site risks could be reduced to an absolute minimum. We also played a key role in clearing the relative planning conditions for the underground drainage working with the local authority and utility asset owner.

Kingwell, Harrow on the Hill

In the heart of Harrow on the Hill, this large detached house demanded internal alterations to open the areas. These were supplemented by two single storey extensions, one each side.

the challenge

Both new single storey extensions abutted to the boundary. The site is located on London Clay and conifer trees with a high water demand align the neighbouring boundary line.

The contractor had priced for trench foundations, however, at 2.5m depth risked a price overspend and health and safety concerns during construction. PH Design were able to discuss with the construction team the benefits of using a piled foundation. We designed these for the site, making the construction cost neutral and reducing drastically the health and safety risks during construction.

Cuckoo Hill Drive, Hatch End

Increasing the internal floor area of property brings with it many advantages such as allowing your dream home to be realised, expanding for your families future and increasing the net worth of the property.

The extensive structural alterations to this property added a 2 additional large rooms.

the challenge

The existing building had been extended previously and prior to undertaking the design of the proposed works, we planned the intrusive investigations required to allow prospective builders to factor in the unknowns.

This allowed a greater degree of accuracy during tender stage and allowed a depth of understanding of the existing building structure not usually afforded for such projects.
